Three youth lacrosse teams comprised of players from Western New York and Ontario competed for the Buffalo Bandits at the sixth-annual Jr. NLL Tournament in Oakville, Ont. this past weekend.
The tournament consisted of teams representing nine NLL clubs, along with Junior Edmonton, at the Peewee, Bantam and Midget age levels. Each Buffalo team was coached by a duo of current Bandits.
The Bandits’ Peewee and Midget-level teams placed third and fourth in their respective divisions. The Midget team, coached by Josh Byrne and Dhane Smith, made it to semifinal game before falling to eventual champion Toronto. Amos Whitcomb led the team and finished seventh in the division with 11 points.
Incredibly proud of this group. Seeing these guys grow as bantams, these young men have come along way. Excited to see what’s next. Huge thank you to the families and most importantly the players for making this all worthwhile. #GrowTheGame pic.twitter.com/vhGvGg2EWZ— Dhane Smith (@dhanesmith92) August 26, 2018

Moagi Buffalo finished third amongst goalies at the Peewee level with a 4.00 goals-against average and second with a .810 save percentage.
