Jillian from Buffalo: Who have most people told you is your doppelganger?
A: The only person that I’m told that I look like is Roger Daltrey from The Who.
Frank from Amherst: As a transition player, do you feel you are playing a more strict transition role this year rather than more of an overall offensive role as in years past?
A: Yes, definitely. It’s a bit of a change.
Evan from Buffalo: Where do you get your orange shoes?
A: Reebok sponsors the NLL, and they design and supply me with the orange shoes.
Adam from North Tonawanda: What is the coolest thing or place you and teammates have seen or done while on a road trip?
A: Probably when we were playing against Anaheim a few years ago and we went to Huntington Beach where we tried surfing.
Jason from Cheektowaga: When a fan sees you in public, (for example, at Target), how do you prefer them to act? Cool and collected, rabid and screaming, or somewhere in the middle?
A: It doesn’t really matter to me. It’s just neat for me to be in a position where somebody actually wants to come up and meet me.
Lauren from Cheektowaga: What is your real job?
A: I own a landscaping company. I do that during the spring and summer months and I also play box and field lacrosse when the Bandits season is over.
Mike from New Jersey: Do you have any tips on how you string your sticks up with Marc Mesh, in order to create a nice bag but still keep a quick release?
A: I try to keep the sidewalls tight and mess around with the bottom pull string for your pocket depth. Sometimes you’ll get a quicker release depending on what kind of head you’re using as well. I prefer to use the Reebok 9K.
Will from Orchard Park: What's the best prank you've pulled?
A: The Giant Leaner. You lean a few buckets of water on the top of someone’s door, and when they open it, the water buckets all come down and soak the person.
Allie from East Aurora: Do you have any pre- or post-game superstitions?
A: Normally if we win the previous game, I try to do everything the same as I did that day.
Grant from Buffalo: On "The X", it's revealed that you guys call Steve Priolo "Big Baby" and call Chris Corbeil "Vidal Sassoon" and "Pert Plus". So, what's your nickname?
A: Most people just call me Steener, short for my last name. I don’t really get anything else.
Rob from Cheektowaga: How does it feel having such a deep lineup of talented guys behind you, especially with Mike Thompson between the pipes?
A: It feels great. Anytime you can play with guys of that caliber, it makes the games that much easier. Mikey’s playing great and it’s nice to have a force like that behind us.
Robert from Cheektowaga: When you first entered the lacrosse world, who did you aspire to be like as a player?
A: I used to just watch all the players and tried to take what I liked from their games and incorporate it into mine.
Jim from Buffalo: What's your favorite band or kind of music?
A: My favorite kind of music would have to be Indie Rock right now and my favorite bands are Shout Out Louds and Band of Horses.
Paige from Cheektowaga: Why are you so darn cute?
A: Because my mama made me this way. Thanks!
Joe from Amherst: What is the conditioning and training like that you do during your season and what conditioning and training do you do in the offseason?
A: In the off-season I try to do lots of cardio and have the stick in my hands as much as possible. During the season you tone it down a bit due to the practices and games that you play, but still try to get to the gym a few times a week.
Mike from Buffalo: Which player(s) is the most vocal in the locker room or on the bench during a game?
A: I’d have to say it’s kind of a bunch of people, nobody really stands out... everybody contributes in the locker room and on the bench.
Emery from Salamanca: Are you good friends with Johnny Tavares?
A: I would consider us pretty close. We’ve played together for a long time.
Jessica from Depew: How do you balance family life and with the demands of being a professional athlete?
A: I don’t!!! I get in trouble for it all the time.
