The Buffalo Bandits opened training camp for their 2010 season today, with rookies and veterans taking the turf.
Players took part in a two-hour practice at HSBC Arena, as fans piled in to watch. Coach Darris Kilgour split players into four teams during the drills to simulate real-game situations, and to begin to evaluate the teams' newest additions.
Newcomers Troy Gardner, Dustin Dunn, Jordan Coffey, Drew Candy, Kyle Clancy, and Hamburg native Frank Resetarits were all in attendance and anxious to showcase their talents.
Resetarits was acquired at the 2009 NLL Draft from the Washington Stealth in exchange for Buffalo's third-round selection. In two seasons with the Stealth franchise, Resetarits has appeared in 21 career regular season games registering 50 points (24+26).
Saturday's practice also marked the return of two former Bandits players: Jon Harasym and AJ Shannon. Harasym played for the black and orange for two seasons, recording 21 points in 16 regular season games. Shannon spent three years with Buffalo, tallying 87 points in 41 regular season games.
Practice was followed by an autograph session where fans had the chance to meet their favorite player, and become familiar with the newer ones.
