Both Jon Harasym and AJ Shannon previously played with the Buffalo Bandits before being re-acquired this summer. Harasym played two seasons in black and orange, recording 21 points (7+14), while Shannon played in 41 regular season games for Buffalo totaling 87 points (41+46).
The pair sat down with bandits.com to discuss returning to their former team:
You played here once before, what made you want to come back?
Harasym: "It's a great atmosphere to play here, there are a ton of fans, and Darris is a great coach. It's a great place to play lacrosse."
Shannon: "Plus, the team is always competing for a championship, and I know the system well."
Do you feel that playing here before will help you integrate this season?
Harasym: "I know the way Darris' style is and what he is looking for out of the players and just knowing that going in will help a little bit."
Shannon: "Also knowing that it's important to be in good shape, and to have a positive mind frame to help you work hard is important to Coach Kilgour."
How have you grown since your last season with the Bandits, and how does that help you contribute to the team?
Harasym: "I'm just a little bit more experienced. Every year you learn more and get better."
Shannon: "My career has probably digressed rather than improved, but you go up and down in careers, so I'm just trying to end on a good note here and hopefully retire here in Buffalo."
For those that may have forgotten, what style of play should we expect to see from you?
Harasym: "I'm more of a throw-back where I play a little defense and a little offense and mix it up. I'm kind of an old-school type of player."
Shannon: "I play a little offense and defense, and contribute wherever I can. Wherever there are gaps in the team is where I can help out."
Now that you're back, what places do you want to visit?
Harasym: "Lots of good places to go here, Cobblestone is a good place, and Pearl Street. Places like that; I'll probably hit those places before long."
Shannon: "I'm pretty laid back, so nothing really like that. I'm just happy to be back."
