The Buffalo Bandits and the National Lacrosse League are proud to announce “Black Out Breast Cancer” this Saturday, April 3 when the Bandits square off against the Colorado Mammoth at 7:30 p.m.
“The National Lacrosse League is proud to join the fight against breast cancer,” said NLL Commissioner George Daniel. “Our fans are very passionate about lacrosse, and we know they will rally behind this cause as well.”
The Bandits will wear pink helmets in honor of “Black Out Breast Cancer.” Each helmet will be signed by the player and then auctioned off next Saturday, April 10th vs. Toronto. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Western New York affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
“We are delighted the Buffalo Bandits have chosen the Western New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure as the benefactor for "Black Out Breast Cancer." There are 123 Komen Affiliates across the country, all with the same mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever. This event not only will raise money for programs in the communities of Western New York, but also raise awareness about the importance of early detection,” acknowledged Jackie Mordaunt, Executive Director, Susan G. Komen for the Cure Western New York Affiliate.
