Buffalo Bandits Director of Lacrosse Operations Scott Loffler today announced that the Bandits will host “Cancer Awareness Night” on Saturday, April 2, when they square off against the Washington Stealth at 7:30 p.m.

The Bandits will wear pink helmets and play with pink sticks during the game, with the game-used helmets and sticks to be auctioned off on April 16 when the Bandits host the Boston Blazers. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Western New York Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

The Western New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. Up to 75 percent of the Affiliate’s net income goes toward funding grants to local hospitals and community organizations that provide breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs for medically underserved women. The remaining net income (a minimum of 25 percent) supports the national Komen Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.
