The National Lacrosse League today announced that Buffalo Bandits forward Mark Steenhuis has been named the Offensive Player of the Week, after setting the Bandits single-game record for goals in a game with eight on Friday against Toronto.
Steenhuis scored the game-tying and game-winning goal in last week's come-from-behind 17-16 OT win at Toronto. The eight-goal performance gives Steenhuis sole possession of all three Bandits single-game scoring records (goals, assists and points). Each have been set in the past two weeks.
This is the third time this season Steenhuis has been named the Offensive Player of the Week. The first came after his 12-point (7+5) performance against Rochester on January 16 and the second last week after setting the NLL single game record with 13 assists and 17 points.
Buffalo returns home on Saturday against the Minnesota Swarm at 7:30 p.m. Fans can listen to the game live on WWKB 1520 AM or catch the action on the NLL Network at nll.com by following the link at www.bandits.com .
