The National Lacrosse League today announced that Buffalo Bandits forward Mark Steenhuis has been named the overall and offensive player of the week after his 12 point (7+5) performance.
In addition, goaltender Ken Montour has been named the Defensive Player of the Week for the second-straight week. Montour made 49 saves and allowed only six goals for the second week in a row.
Steenhuis tied the Bandits franchise record with seven goals in Buffalo's 23-6 victory over Rochester on Friday. He added a game-high 13 loose balls to his performance and is now the league leader with 14 goals and second in points with 24.
For the second week in a row Ken Montour allowed only six goals while carrying the Bandits to a victory. Montour made 49 saves on 55 shots as he improved to 2-0 on the season.
